Definitions

  • The seconds are sold in packages.
  • Each package contains 20 seconds.
  • Each package costs $20 (U.S. Dollar).
  • Minimum purchase is one package (twenty seconds).
  • Maximum purchase are all packages that are left before selling all 1.000.000 seconds minus the ordered but not processed packages before your order.
  • For every 100 seconds you buy at once, you qualify for uploading a square image with the size of ten by ten (10x10) pixels.
  • Images can be grouped together, when qualifying for more than one square.

Pre-Order steps

  1. Read the terms and conditions below.
  2. Double check, that the material you will upload is not copyrighted by a third party or you have written permission to make it available on this homepage.
  3. If you qualify for an image, select a free position on the main page. If you go with your mouse over free squares, you will see numbers indicating the current position.
  4. Please enter the lenght of your audio file and click on the button below to calculate the price:

  5. Create an MP3 file of your recordings (FAQ). If the file size is more than five megabytes, consider reducing the bitrate or divide the files and send them to me one after another.
  6. If you qualified for submitting an image, create your image in GIF or JPEG format without animations and check, if it really fits on the position you selected before.

  1. Send the funds to get this time oriented process rolling. Please use PayPal to pay with your credit card or your bank account by clicking on the following image:

  2. Send an e-mail to order@millionsecondshomepage.com with the following information and data:
    • Your first name, last name, street name and number, city, state, country, zip code, e-mail address and company name (if applicable).
    • Your full phone number (including country and area code) and the best time (including time zone) I can contact you if there are any questions.
    • The name of the website you will be linking to.
    • The full URL to the website you will linking to (max. 50 chars).
    • Attach the audio file in MP3-format.
    • When qualifying, attach an image in GIF or JPEG format and the position on the main page, where you want your image to be placed. If qualifying for a set of squares, you can also submit multiple positions. Also submit an alternate text for your images with a maximum of 50 characters.
    • Add the following line to your e-mail: "I have read and accepted the terms and conditions of the hompage http://www.millionsecondshomepage.com".
  3. Wait for an e-mail from me. It will be either an acceptance or a denial letter with information, why your submission has been denied.
  4. After you received this e-mail, it will usually take not longer than 24 hours to have your audio file in the playlist of the stream, be linked from the list of audio files to your homepage and if applicable having your image on the main page of this homepage.

Terms & Conditions

  • Accepted audio files can be heard by listening to the stream and will be placed on the list of audio files, where users can download them separately. On that page, there will also be a link to the homepage you provided. If you qualified for uploading an image, it will be placed on the main page and be linked with the link you provided with your additional alternative text. When the users start listening to the stream, they don't start at the beginning with the first audiofile that has been uploaded, they will start at the place, where the stream is right now. It's like radio, nobody can forward or rewind.
  • When you "buy" seconds of my homepage and maybe qualify for pixelspace, you will not "own" any part of the homepage. You are only granted to place your audio file on my homepage and if applicable, display your image based web link in the respective location you selected as long as this homepage exists (at least five years, that means at least until February, 20th 2011). I'm just the provider of webspace for you. You keep the copyright but grant me the right to publish your audio, images and links at no charge. You will be responsible for all files you requested to upload.
  • The audio files must have the exact size you have paid for. Longer audio files will be cropped. If necessary, the audio files will be recoded to reduce filesize.
  • The audio file has to be uploaded in MP3-format. The images must be uploaded in GIF or JPEG format in reasonable file size. They must have the exact size and must not be animated.
  • If your audio file, link (and image if applicable) are accepted and published on the homepage, you cannot get a refund.
  • You cannot change the audio file, image or link once you have submitted them, so you must be sure of the audio file, image and link you want on the homepage, which will be there for at least five years. The only exception is if you have a strong reason why you need a change to your audio file, image or link, eg. your site no longer exists, major structural change to your site, lawsuits, etc. A fee of $20 will be charged.
  • It is the aim to keep this site online for at least five years, starting from the day it launched (20. February 2006). If the project succeeds, I will also release a DVD with all the audio files using all images as the cover. Even more, I plan to stream all audio files or a subset of them once to the universe. (I will still need help here.) So if you submit any data to this project, you grant me the right at no cost to stream your files to the universe and to use them when releasing a DVD.
  • No obscene, offensive, hatefull, illegal, copyrighted by third parties or adult audio files, images or links are allowed to submit and will not be accepted. I decide what is appropriate for my site. If you submit an audio file, image or link that is rejected, you will have the opportunity to provide an alternative otherwise your money will be refunded and you will loose your seconds, pixelspace and link opportunity.
  • The audio files can be in any language, can contain music or sounds but please keep in mind, you must have the legal authority to publish them on my site. This also applies to the images and links you provide. If we recognize material copyrighted by a third party you uploaded but do not own or do not have the legal right to do so, all data (audio file, images and links) will be removed and you will receive no refunds. Further investigation by the copyright holder may follow and we are granted to help authorities by providing them with data you submitted or that has been collected.
  • If your link is accepted and you later change the content of the linked site to show offensive, obscene or adult material then your link will be removed until you provide a new one, and you will not get a refund of any kind for the link downtime.
  • If for whatever reason in the future you want your image and link removed from the homepage, you can do that, but you will not get a refund and the space will become publically available again.
  • Links must begin with http:// and only link to webpages.
  • Funds must be fully received and cleared before your audio files, pixels and links go live on my homepage.
  • There might be occasional downtimes of the server. This includes maintenance and outages due to natural disasters or due to things outside of my control (attacks, heavy traffic and so on). I'll try to keep this at a minimum. In any case, no refunds are possible.
  • Once you have orderd and payed to my Paypal account I will check and get your data online as fast as I can. This will normally take about 24 hours but might take occasionally longer.
  • I reserve the right to change these terms and conditions to better serve my customers as I think it is appropriate.
  • You agree that this Agreement is governed by German law and that any suit arising from this Agreement will be brought in Braunschweig, Germany.
  • You further agree (a) not to violate anyone's rights of privacy, (b) not to act in any way that might give rise to civil or criminal liability, (c) not to collect or store personal data about anyone, (d) not to infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, or other proprietary rights of any person, (e) not to transmit or facilitate the transmission of unsolicited email ("spam"), (f) not to harass, threaten, or otherwise annoy anyone, and (g) not to act in any way that might be harmful to minors.
  • If sections or individual formulations of this text are not legal or correct, the content or validity of the other parts remain uninfluenced by this fact.
